Tips for Greenhurst Nursery & Garden

Greenhurst Nursery. After shopping at Greenhurst Nursery I found a great plant in Western Red Cedar-Viresens. I know it to be very dark green and will become a large conifer in time as all western red cedars do.It's slender in youth but should broaden with age, reaching 40' by 15'. Everybody knows this, most people anyway. LOVE the place, best selection of plants anywhere. A must.

Very good service. I have been shopping with Greenhurst for several years. They are a little more expensive than some other places but they are worth it. Any time I have had any questions about my garden they have been very helpful. I have taken leaves of various plants in and they have been able to diagnose the issue and recommend the proper treatment. I have purchased things that failed and got refunds with no problems. They have always been very helpful and I have never had any issues with them. I would highly recommend them.

Buyer BEWARE!. Don't rely on their "professionals" to actually know what they are talking about. I visited them looking for a specific type of TREE, but was not sure of the name, etc. The sales person showed me a specific variety and, after I asked very specific questions, the sales person insured me that these were what I was looking for. He explained that they were just young plants, but would branch out as they grew. I now find out they sold me $70 worth of ARBORVITUS and am stuck with plants that I have no place for. Sure, they grow tall, but that doesn't make them a TREE! (By the way, Greenhurst, you might want to check your dictionary if you're unclear on the difference between the two...) I called them after bringing them home and they still insist that the "Thuja Plicata Virescens" is a tree and had the attitude that the error was my fault, etc, etc, etc, even though I made the purchase based on information their "professional" provided. In my opinion it seems like their goal is making a sale, any sale! Period!! So, shop away if you don't care what you actually end up with. But, if you have specific landscaping ideas in mind, I'd shop elsewhere.
