Best Chicken in Boise, but.... Without a doubt Popeye's makes the best chicken in the city, as far as fast food is concerned. The problem isn't with the chicken, oh no. The problem is (among other things) the fact that they play the national commercials here with no intention on selling these new items in Boise, or barely ordering enough to last a week. For instance, when Popeye's first started selling crawfish I decided that I would head down to my local popeyes and enjoy a delicious crawfish basket, with fries, and biscuit. Upon arriving at the aforementioned establishment I was informed that not only were they not selling crawfish, but they would never be selling crawfish. My problem with this is that is seems like if they're going to play the commercial they might as well sell the product. A similar story is true of the "chicken dippers" that came out recently, not that they didn't sell them, but they only ordered enough for just under one week (which is ok enough, I suppose, considering the franchise owner has to guess on the amount to be ordered).

The service is shaky at best; it's rare when you get good service. More often than anything it seems like I walked into Clerks 2, and my presence there annoys the workers.

Popeye's Chicken is Amazing (Rumor Has it Popeye's is Heading to Nampa). I am hearing rumors that Popeye's may finally be coming back to Nampa. I often mention when in the Boise Popeye's that it would be great to have one in Nampa again. (Years ago there was a popeye's in the location where Baskin Robbins is now, as I remember anyhow.) The spicy chicken cannot be beat, the french fries are the best, the biscuits only my wife's are better, the mashed potatoes and gravy oh so good but a bit expensive, and everything else is top notch. If you are coming to the Nampa/Caldwell area, you made my day! Need a good manager?

The best dirty Rice around. I go here when i miss New Orleans cooking. The dirty rice reminds me of the Orleans staple. Sometimes I order containers of the rice to bring home to my home cooked dishes. Biscuits are good too and those sides keep me coming back.

Best Fried Chicken in Boise. I live in Nampa but when I go to Boise - I eat at Popeye's!! The chicken is hot and fresh and yummy! The biscuits are to die for. And they have the best onion rings around. And did I mention the great red beans and rice. Dang I am getting hungry for Popeye's right now....

Now all they need to do is open a Popeye's in Nampa!

Cajun-inspired chicken and biscuits chain proffers classic Southern favorites, seafood, sides and desserts with a tangy twist.. In Short
This Cajun-style fast food restaurant first opened in New Orleans in 1972 and has since achieved domestic and international fame for its flavorful mild and spicy chicken. In addition to the storied buttermilk biscuits, seafood menu items range from fried popcorn shrimp and shrimp snack "Craver Paks" to chicken sausage jambalaya, catfish baskets and shrimp etouffee. More festive Louisiana regional fare--think red beans and rice, and Mardi Gras cheesecake--rounds out the menu.
