I recently moved to the Meridian area and was looking for a tanning salon to go to. I tried to contact Jamaica Me Tan to see their hours of business with no response. I guess they don't like to respond to emails nor answer the phone. So I decided to just go there and hopefully I'd have better luck. When I first walked in I was a little iffy to tan because the girl at the front desk was so rude. When I went inside the tanning room to tan I checked my bed (I do this at any and every tanning salon I go to) and by checking my bed I just leaned down to get eye level with the bed to look for fingerprints or streaks anything like that. I was appalled by the fingerprints on the bed I don't think anyone had cleaned it so I went back to the desk and asked the nice rude woman if she could clean the bed as it was dirty. She was NOT happy about that at all she rolled her eyes and mumbled under her breath. I stood close by so she would know I was watching her so that way I knew she would actually clean the bed. I returned inside the room to tan and noticed the bed was very worn but figured it's just an old salon. When I was leaving I said goodbye and to have a nice day with which she responded something so I turned around and asked her politely to repeat herself that I didn't hear her and she responded rudely with "goodbye". Needless to say with DISGUSTING DIRTY beds and RUDE employees I will NOT be returning to Jamaica Me Tan never in my life have I been so disgusted. So now I'm out looking for a different tanning salon.
WOW! I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYONE HAVING ANYTHING BUT A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT THE MERIDIAN STORE. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS PLACE FOR ALMOST FOUR YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TREATED WITH EXTREME COURTESY, IN PARTICULAR, RACHEL. SHE IS A VERY OUTGOING AND HAPPY PERSON WHO HAS ALWAYS PUT MY NEEDS FIRST. I'VE NEVER HAD A BAD BED, OR A DIRTY BED. HER SERVICE HAS ALWAYS BEEN QUICK AND PROFESSIONAL. IF ANYTHING, THIS YOUNG LADY SHOULD GET A RAISE. I HAVE BEEN IN THE STORE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WAITING MY TURN FOR BED ASSIGNMENT AND HAVE WITNESSED SEVERAL REALLY, REALLY RUDE CUSTOMERS THAT SHE HANDLED WITH QUIET, PROFESSIONAL CARE. I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO KIND.
I LOVE GOING TO THE STORE, I LOVE THE STAFF, PARTICULARLY RACHEL AND WILL CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND THEM TO MY FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES ...MINIMUM 5 STARS
Best Tanning in Meredian. I love Jamaca Me Tan, They have always have the best customer service! Also, I love there deals that they always have going on. I would have to say if you want a great tan this spring go to Jamaca Me Tan and do their unlimited tanning packages!
I LOVE Jamaca Me Tan Meridian!!. I am a tanning customer at the Meridian location and I have to say the staff has always been so nice and personable. I can always get into my tanning bed with no wait. The prices are always a great deal. I feel the staff goes out of their way to make me feel like more of a friend then just another customer. They know my name when I come in. It is clean and I never have had any problems with the customer service at any Jamaca Me Tan. I use the VIP program and that is the best deal for tanning and I can get any product from them even of they don;t have it on the shelf. They have even special ordered me my favorite tanning lotions when I need them. I have nothing to say but great things about my experience at the Meridian location. Thank you for making my tanning visits stress free.
Shameful Employees. Giving this Meridian Jamaica Me Tan location one star is absolutely one star too many. I had the worst experience as a customer of any business I've ever visited today, and I do not make that statement lightly. My negative experiences are as follows 1) I wiped down the "sanitized" bed myself before tanning, and there was a yellow substance all over the cloth 2) I noticed the door didn't latch well to my tanning room at all - and the bed (level 3) appeared very old, with cracks all over the black base and clear plastic you lay on, and most importantly 3) I was treated extremely poorly and with sarcasm from the two employees that day upon my initial visit to tan and upon my return when I wanted to request a refund in person- the employee's names are Rachel (the manager) and Syndey (employee of two weeks) --- I was mocked, criticized, and yelled at in front of my husband and one other customer. When I asked to speak with the owners of the business, the manager refused to give me their contact information, stating, "They have like 10 kids and don't need you bothering them..." It was impossible to take Rachel seriously, as my husband and I were being demeaned, and not regarded as a valued customer with any of my requests for a refund, an explanation for the completely unprofessional behavior, or the contact information for the owner. Rachel even had the nerve to suggest my husband was there to "intimidate" her - likely as a tactic to scare us off... it was completely ridiculous and at that point - typical of her immature and unprofessional behavior. I couldn't believe my ears! I had to call the Boise location to request the phone number for the owners. Upon telling Rachel that I was going to contact Darren (the owner), she said (and I quote), "Oh, you think Darren's going to do anything!?" My husband (who stepped into the salon to witness how I was being spoken to) was appalled that such behavior even existed in a place of business. As business owners ourselves, we were nothing short of stomach sick at this unprofessional behavior by someone apparently holding the title of "manager," as well as a newly hired employee of two weeks! After speaking with Kim, the owner, later that day - she did express that she was embarrassed by the employees' behavior, and seemed willing to help me reach a resolution. To be done with this situation that had unfairly wasted much of my valuable time and energy, I offered to transfer my tans to another location in Eagle, which is out of my way, as I live in the far end of Meridian. After hanging up with Kim, I did not receive a feeling of peace like I had hoped by this considerate decision. I have concluded that I will never return to a location or further patronize a business that keeps employees (especially managers) who treat customers in such a horrific manner. To be yelled at and mocked with sarcasm was should never be tolerated by anyone paying their hard earned money to a business. Kim did mention she would speak to her employees about how to professionally address a customer, but as a business owner - no employee would continue working for me unless they addressed the customer (and my husband) with sincere apologies, at the very least. I wonder how Kim and Darren would feel about keeping the employees if she had witnessed what took place herself. In the end, I realize I inconvenienced myself by offering to move my tans to a location further away simply because I sympathized as a business owner, and Kim sounded like a decent person - but it didn't fix the real problem(s) - Rachel and Sydney. Consumers beware.
