I ve been to every Chinese buffet in Boise (literally), and City Buffet is hands-down by far the best in Boise!

My dining experience at the City Buffet was nice. My family and I were greeted with the door being opened for us."Mendy"is by far the best waitress I've had in years she checked on us 8 times and brought a balloon over for my daughter. Nice clean environment with excellent service. The food was kept at the proper temps and fresh. We will definitely return when we have a taste for chinese buffet.

Fresh, tasty, plentiful food. They keep the buffet pans full. Clean, nice place. There are so many choices, stir fry they will make for you and literally probably over 100 choices of food. I enjoyed everything I tasted. My husband and son love the food. I think they will reserve an area for a larger group.

Best Chinese buffet in Boise.. This is by far the best Chinese buffet I've had in Boise, and I've been to them all. They have at least twice the selection of any other buffet we've been to, and the food there consistently tastes better and seems fresher than other buffets around town. On top of that, they do serve sushi in the form of nigiri and hand rolls, and while the nigiri doesn't quite compare to what you'll get at most sushi joints around town, the hand rolls don't leave anything to be desired. The General Tso chicken is particularly good (some of the best I've had from any Chinese place in Boise, buffet or no) and the pork (chops, ribs) from their hibachi is consistently well cooked and tender.

The only service that you need while dining is the clearing of plates and the refilling of drinks, and every time I've been there at least one waitress was watching the dining area where I was seated (10-15 tables) and was quick to clear plates and fill drinks. I drink a lot of iced tea while I eat, and I never had to wait for a refill.

At $10.25 a person, this place is a real value, and quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat.

Terrible!!! Will NEVER attempt to eat there again!. My daughther, granddaugher and I went to City Buffet in Boise, ID, March 3,2012 around 4:00pm. We were given a number and told it would be a 5-10 minute wait. After about 15 minutes and several walk-ins being seated before us, we asked what was going on... the answer was the Manager told the "girls" to seat all large parties before small ones. When asked "does that mean we'll be standing here all night, as long as large parties come in?" we were told by a very unpleasent girl, "I don't make the rules, the manager does!" Needless to say, we will NEVER attempt to eat there again. Very rude staff and incompetent managers. Makes me wonder if the food, since they serve seafood, is even safe to eat.

Bland and flavorless food. The only thing this place has going for it is that its new and a good atmosphere. The food was very bland and had no flavor and the service was very poor. definitly will not reffer anyone to this place.
