how ANYONE could say that this movie was one of the best movies of the year, or even one of the best musicals ever made ever, is inane. if your husband wanted to see it more than once, then he must have to try WAY too hard to get some; or he is gay. no worries either way, but these people thinking that Meryl Streep dancing goofily could in any way take on a quarter of what The Dark Knight is as a whole, while opening on the same weekend, must have some sort of severe mental problems to sell this truly lame storyline that could only appeal to those over 80 years of age. ...or those who act like they are that weak and fragile. i snuck into it to just check it out and was quickly embarrassed for the actors (although Brosnan and Streep actually are almost 80, so they looked pretty good considering!), and everyone in the theater; needless to say i quickly left.

Pros: the 80 yr old Streep and Brosnan sure can cut a rug! LOL

Cons: people singing and dancing POORLY, the really dumb and shallow plot, etc...

the movie actually annoyed me..i'm glad i didnt have to actually pay to see it -- even when i was offered the chance to see it again for free, i didnt take it

Best movie I have seen in a long time. My husband and I have seen it 3 times and Im going back tonight with my best friend. It is just unbelievably entertaining and you can take your kids and not worry about anything inappropriate. My husband absolutely loved it and went back for 2nds and 3rds. So when people say its only a chick flick, not really!!!! Its just a feel good movie, that will leave you dancing and singing in your heart!!!! If your having a bad day or just feeling down, go see it!!!! It will lift you up!!!!

Pros: EVERYTHING

Cons: NOTHING

I agree with the guy who said that if you are a chick you love it; but as a male the movie was HORRIBLE. Do not see it, or you will be contemplating suicide afterwords.....

Pros: I slept an extra 2 hours that day

My friends and I went to see this movie last week and we all loved it!!! It's been awhile since a real feel good movie has been out. The music was fantastic and energizing, and the acting tremendous....we plan on going again this week....loved it!

Pros: Movie plot, sound track, acting, etc.

Cons: NONE!!!

All nine of us (all women) loved it. My husband would have hated it. I will definitely see it again. It's lighthearted and fun and you want to sing along AND get up and dance.

Pros: Just plain fun.

Cons: Ladies only ... men probably won't like it

My Red Hat friends and I went to see Mama Mia last night. We all found it fast moving, funny, light-hearted and incredible. Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski stood out for me. Pierce Bronson showed more depth than ever before IMHO. The music, of course, was outstanding, but the production numbers...blew me away! This is a must see and I hope to see if again today!

Pros: Acting, songs, humor, dancing, scenery

Cons: there were none that I could see

I felt like I was in the dentist chair getting a root canal with no anesthetic. I had an anxiety reaction. Bottom line. If you are a female the chances are good that you will love this movie. If you are a male you may not like it. Answer. My date “recommended” we go to it.

The best ride I have had with a musical in years. Made me feel with this movie. Happy, sad, funny, I wanted to see more into this movie. Beyond the story I didn't want it to stop. I was so suprised with Meryl & Pierce singing. Their singing wasn't the greatest but it was great for the story. I can't wait to see it again and own it......

Pros: Thumbs way up

My mother and I smiled and laughed through the entire movie. Don't miss sitting through the credits, Peirce Brosnan in spandex!
